A lot of players tell me they miss the feeling of playing in a group — but a weekly ensemble is a big commitment to sign up for without knowing what it’s like. This workshop gives you that experience in a single afternoon.
We’ll split into parts (soprano/alto/tenor/bari, whatever the group needs), rehearse a short, achievable arrangement together, and finish with a run-through as a full group. You’ll leave with a real sense of what ensemble playing feels like — the listening, the blending, the timing — without any ongoing obligation.
By the end of the session, you’ll have:
- Played a full arrangement as part of a saxophone ensemble
- Practical experience listening and blending within a group
- A clear sense of whether ongoing ensemble playing is for you
Who it’s for: Players of any level who want the experience of playing in a group, without committing to a term-long ensemble.
